A federal lawsuit settlement agreed to by the city of St. Louis in 2005 may have been violated when city park rangers, considered park police, destroyed all of the possessions of a camp of homeless people on Thursday morning, according to court records.

Emergency crews were dispatched to Rozzi's Famous Fireworks Friday after reports of an explosion.
Initial calls from the business indicated that there was light smoke showing from the building at 11605 Lebanon Road.
Crews from the Loveland Symmes Fire Department were headed to the fireworks factory.
The Rozzis are known for their elaborate fireworks displays across the country, including events like Riverfest and the Fourth of July celebration in Cincinnati.

Tampa tourism officials are trying to attract a half-dozen international tall ships to Tampa's Channel District for next year's Fourth of July weekend.
Visit Tampa Bay officials have talked with diplomatic staffs from nations whose naval academies operate the tall-masted sailing ships, said Steve Hayes, executive vice president of the tourism marketing agency.
The ships would dock along Ybor Channel for tours.

The City Council agreed Tuesday to continue waiving fees for nonprofit and community organizations putting on major events, despite the city's financial hardship.
No official motion was necessary, but the council reached a consensus.
It has been council practice to consider individual requests from community organizations and nonprofit groups for the waiver of fees for park reservations, traffic control or permit fees ranging from $200 to $40,000.
It's clear that subsidizing these events does have an impact on the General Fund, but it's also clear that these events have a positive impact on the community -Dan Hobbs
